The public library is a phenomenal opportunity for all of us to educate ourselves gratis, and Spanish speakers are no exception.
The libraries must have decided to establish this as nutrition season, because in addition to the event at the Brooklyn Library, the Queens public library in Corona is also offering a series of nutrition workshops for Spanish speakers…. and they can even come out with a certificate!
* I know, the hours don’t work for many working parents, but share the information anyway. Let them see the library as a resource for, Ahem, achieving their goals.

Nutrition Workshop Series (in Spanish)
Registration: Not required
English:Learn About: Basic Nutrition, Portion Size, Food Safety, Menu Planning, Food Shopping & Budgeting, Food Preparation, Feeding Children, Physical Activity. You will prepare nutritious and delicious recipes, and taste new foods. Those who come to at least 6-8 sessions will receive a certificate from Cornell Cooperative Extension. This event will take place at Immigrant Movement International, 108-59 Roosevelt Avenue., Corona, 11368.
