Documenting Pedestrian Safety

Okay.

This is a direct response to family workers’ questions and review of children’s folders which we know must always be complete and ready for inspection ;0.

Back in October, at the very start of the program, teachers were given instructions to teach about pedestrian safety, and we sent home a note to the parents where they had to sign that they reviewed the rules of pedestrian safety with their children.

Teachers taught it.  We saw the evidence in their lesson plans and posted on their bulletin boards.

What is missing, however, in some children’s folders is the evidence that parents reviewed the concepts with their children.

Remember – if it’s not documented, it didn’t happen.

Now is a good time anyway to review and reinforce the lessons of a few months ago, and to ensure that every child’s folder is 100% complete – including the parent-signed pedestrian safety form in the education folder.
