Numerous studies have shown the health benefits of exercise. People who exercise are less likely to be overweight, and they are less likely to develop cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome and some cancers. Exercise also helps build strong bones and muscles, and has been shown to improve mental health and mood.
